So, it’s been a while since my last post! I have been doing a lot of organizing here at the studio, prepping for holiday, and took a few scouting trips to Dallas and New York.
I went to NYC as a participant in the Martha Stewart American Made Workshop Series and was able to stop by the artisan market they set up at Grand Central Terminal. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw all of the beautiful objects I was ogling at the market. And since UPS was shipping all purchased items for free, I just had to pick a little something up and I left with two mugs from New York ceramicist, Eric Bonnin. I have only been using my new mugs for a few days but I absolutely love them!
Eric Bonnin has been working with clay ever since moving to New York City from Paris in 1994. Each piece is handmade in New York City’s garment district in a shared collaborative studio. The pieces are simple and understated so there is no surprise that I love them. I left with one black mug and one natural, and have hops to get a few serving pieces to compliment our Flow dishes we just received for our wedding.
I grabbed the images below from a studio visit featured on la buena vida and there is a great Q&A with Eric there too. In Austin, you can pick up one of Eric’s mugs at Spartan and of course, through Eric’s website. Enjoy!
