Today’s guide comes from one of my favorite illustrators and designers, Leah Duncan. Her limited edition calendar hangs over the cash wrap at the store and is frequently the topic of conversation and admiration, her tea towels are not only functional but bring a pop of color to our kitchen, and I am anxiously awaiting the addition of a few throw pillows to complete our living room. Obviously, I am a fan. Her collection of textiles below has definitely made my list a little longer! Enjoy!
“In addition to being a maker of textiles, I am a lover, collector, and possibly diagnosable hoarder of textiles. I love them to no end and feel like they make the perfect gift for most occasions, including the holidays!” – Leah
- Tea towels! What can I say about tea towels other than I am an obviously obsessed collector and maker of them. I’m currently coveting this “Leaping Hare” Towel by Megan Ferguson-Smyth. These truly make a cute, cost-effective, and endlessly useable gift, $14
- I don’t think any woman can have enough scarves, especially if she’s just moved to the northeast from Texas like I have. This one from Anthropologie would be perfect to brighten up a winter wardrobe, $48
- Splurging on a super plush bath towel is not something most of us do. That’s why they make the perfect gift. Plus the company who makes them, Creative Women works to promote equitable trading practices and to support women’s economic independence in countries like Ethiopia, Swaziland, and Afghanistan. Win-win. Available at Connected Fair Trade, $60
- There’s nothing cozier than a warm wool blanket on a winter day. The simple patterns of these Mexican inspired blankets by Mexchic will be a perfect match for anyone’s home decor, $70
- Because every design-centered girl in Austin loves Alyson Fox, her textiles for West Elm are a sure bet, $34
- Beautiful, well made sheets make your whole bedroom feel luxurious, especially when you crawl into bed at night. This Egg Press Dot sheet set from Schoolhouse Electric is exactly what I’ve been looking for and is on my personal Christmas list, $179
