I am thrilled to debut my newest collection for Spring 2018, Femme!
I have been eternally inspired by the works of American artist Alexander Calder and was thrilled to find that not only did he make the most beautiful sculptures, but also constructed over 2,000 pieces of jewelry throughout his career, giving them as gifts for his friends and family through his life. Calder's techniques are the same as my own, relying solely a hammer, a drill, and using only cold connections to construct his works. I was particularly struck by his heavy handed approach to forging, which informed the direction that I took for S18 and something you will undoubtably see in collections to come.
Built from wire, the Femme collection plays with overlapping forms, nesting shapes, and their relationships to one another. There are many pieces I consider instant classics like the Bella Round & Elongated Hoops, balanced with more artful pieces like the Louisa Earrings, and minimalist favorite the Joan Ring. If you have seen me around Austin recently, you might have noticed the Joan Cuff that hasn't left my wrist in the past 3 months, but I am also quite fond of the Peggy Earringswith their layers of gold and silver flickering with the slightest movement.
I feel like a broken record, but this really is one of my favorite collections to date! I hope you love it as much as I do!!! Happy shopping!
