I fell in love with the ceramics from maker Jen Kuroki after meeting her at West Cost Craft this past November. Stoneware is pretty hot right now and a current personal obsession. Yet, I don’t know of many designers doing it with such personality and color. I snagged a few magnets, mug, and small bowl, but am now lusting after so many more.
Jen is an artist and graphic designer based in Los Angeles who’s been playing with clay for over 15 years. She studied ceramics while living in Tokyo and Yokohama and a Japanese playfulness and whimsy is certainly evident in her work. From bowls, to wall hangings to vases, Jen creates a variety of ceramic pieces.
