Fail Jewelry is celebrating it's one year anniversary this week! Whew, how time flies!!!
I was excited to open the doors on Jun 13th and to tell you about the changes and upgrades we had recently made, but unfortunately we woke up to a break-in :( Luckily the damage was somewhat measured, and I am definitely thankful that it wasn't worse. Its could have been so much worse... We were able to open the doors again later in the afternoon and it just took a bit of an emotional toll (not to mention financial!)
And now onto the good stuff! It has been a crazy busy last 12 months and I am so excited for the future. The East Cesar Chavez community is so beautiful, vibrant and unique, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Over the last year we have built new relationships with other small business owners, and connected with locals from the neighborhood and tourists just getting to know Austin. The neighborhood is under rapid growth but I think that there is still a lot of the old Austin spirit being maintained, and we are definitely trying to do our part!
With a year under my belt, I realized that we needed to re-focus on what we do best - jewelry, jewelry, and more jewelry! With a more edited approach, things seem to be falling into place. I am building the EPIC collection with so many more rings (I can't wait to share!!!!), and it is my goal to make Fail Jewelry THE destination for contemporary and unique handmade engagement rings and wedding bands in Austin.
I have also always had a passion for art and have now devoted even more space to framed prints from artist from across Texas, and the country. I have also decided to bring in a selections of art, design, and lifestyle books. In addition to the new insulation (yay for a cooler shop!), I also took the time to build some new furniture to highlight the artwork and books. We are now more than ready for what the next year will bring, and can't wait to meet more of you.
And last but not least I wanna say thank you to EA/ST co for being a great shop mate and joining us in this adventure. Come by and see us soon!
