Sorda, F18
For fall I was pulled to the dark side and turned to oxidized brass as a counterpoint to all of the bright, high polish, shiny and slick jewelry that is so prominent these days. I also continued to build upon the heavy handed forging techniques introduced in the Femme collection, but now on a thicker wire for a more substantial look and feeling. You will see that most evident in the Mazzo Hoop, Cuff & Ring.
The Ara Earring continues to play on the ideas of movement with layered shapes and colors. Reminiscent of the mobiles of Alexander Calder, these earrings really come alive when worn.
I also added in the addition of dynamic Labradorite and Rainbow Moonstone to the collection in the elegant and simple Ovalo Earring. I have been desperately trying to re-incorporate semi precious stones into my collection for years but previous attempts were never quite right. Hopefully these are the first of many pieces including semi precious stones to come!
